Rare Stunning Octagonal Georgian inlaid Tea Caddy c.1780 SOLD
Here we have the opportunity to own a rather special tea caddy. One of the best quality examples we’ve had the pleasure of offering. It’s presented in a octagonal 8 sided shape in a perfect condition through out. It’s fully inlaid through out on each side and inlaid by various woods. The top fan is made from boxwood and sycamore which continues in the inside lid and each main side comprises of a fan inlay. The columns on the sides are also made from boxwood and sycamore wood. It has a very intricate rope twist stringing through out made from ebony and boxwood. You also have the likes of rosewood, mahogany and tulipwood thrown in. A truly phenomenal example dating to the Georgian period c.1780. Comes with a fully functioning lock and key.
